Author Guidelines

1. General description

The Electronic Journal of Research in University Teaching (REIDU) receives manuscripts in Spanish or English. All contributions must be original, so they must not be published totally or partially in another medium. Also, they should not be under review in any other journal or publisher. Papers must include a abstract in Spanish and English, with a maximum length of 250 words. In addition, they should consider between 3 to 5 keywords (DeCS, MeSH or Thesaurus).

2. Structure

a) Empirical studies (maximum length 10,000 words, including tables, figures, references and annexes):

- Title (in spanish and english).
- Abstract (in spanish and english) (in a single paragraph).
- Introduction (statement of the problem, theoretical background, objectives).
- Methods.
- Results.
- Discussion.
- Conclusions.
- Limitations.
- Bibliographic References.

b) Innovation experiences (maximum length 5,000 words, including Tables, Figures, References and Annexes):

- Title (in Spanish and English).
- Abstract (in Spanish and English) (in a single paragraph).
- Introduction (statement of the problem, theoretical background, objectives).
- Design and implementation of innovation.
- Results.
- Discussion.
- Conclusions.
- Bibliographic References.


c) Reviews (maximum length 6,000 words, including tables, figures, references and Annexes)

- Title (in Spanish and English).
- Abstract (in Spanish and English) (in a single paragraph).
- Introduction (approach to the topic, objectives).
- Development of the contents (specific to the analysis of bibliographic sources).
- Conclusions.
- Bibliographic References.

3. Format

The works must be sent in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, with margins of 2.54 cm on each side, considering Times New Roman font, double spaced, 12 point font size, inserting the page numbering (upper right corner).Tables and Figures will be inserted in the body of the article, they must be numbered in sequential order at the top.

On the first page of each manuscript, only the title should be included, in spanish and english (To maintain the confidentiality of the editorial process, do not include the names of the authors, or any information that allows them to be identified). All the information of the authors must be completed on the platform (full name, institutional affiliation, contact, etc.). A short title should be incorporated as a heading (running head). The short title must appear on all pages of the article in capital letters.

4. Body of the article

The first level titles (eg: Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, etc.) will not be numbered, and will be inserted to the left of the text in bold. Second-level titles (eg: Participants, Instruments) will be inserted with an indentation of 0.5 cm, in bold. The third level titles will be inserted with an indentation of 0.5 cm., In italics. Before and after each title, a space must be included. The text after each title must be inserted with an indentation of 0.5 cm.

5. Quotes, Tables and Figures

The citation form must conform to APA 7 standards. Tables and Figures will be numbered in sequential order (Table 1,2 ... Figure 1, 2 ...), left-aligned with Arabic numerals and in bold. Both must be embedded in the text, at the top or bottom of the page. The title must go below the Table or Figure number, double spaced and in italics. Enter a Note below the Table or Figure, where the description of the Table or Figure is incorporated, in addition to the source, if you do not include the source, it will be understood that it is of your own authorship.

6. Bibliographic References

Only the references that are cited in the text will be included. The writing should be guided according to the criteria of the APA 7 standards. It is organized alphabetically with French indentation.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • I added a short title (running head) in the header of the document. The short title must appear on all pages of the article in capital letters.
  • The Tables and Figures are numbered in correlative order as follows: Table 1, Figure 1 (in bold and in the margin). They have a title in italics in the margin. Both the label and the title are positioned above the Table or Figure. The source must appear below the Table or Figure, in case it is not registered it will be assumed that it is Self-made.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format, 2.54 margins per side, Times New Roman, font size 12 points double spaced and text aligned to the left. The pages were numbered (upper right corner).
  • Abstract: In Spanish and English, 150 to 250 words in a single paragraph without indentation, without specifying the titles (objective, methods, results, conclusions).
  • Only the Title in spanish and english was included on the first page. No personal data or affiliation was included in the document, in order to start the peer review process.
  • The text and the references adhere to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines for Authors, that is, APA 7 Format. All and only the references that were cited in the text of the document were added.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal.
  • I completed the "Metadata of the Submission": the information of the authors, the keywords are in lowercase and italics (in Spanish and English) and ordered alphabetically (every time I entered one I pressed enter and continued with the next).
  • I have read and reviewed the REIDU Magazine author guidelines and my article fully complies.
  • I added a short title (running head) in the document header. The short title must appear on all pages of the article in capital letters.

Literature reviews are written reports that summarize or synthesize the scientific literature in the area of ​​university teaching, in this section bibliographic (narrative) or systematic reviews will be presented, they will be reviewed by external peers and will be published with dates of reception, acceptance and publication, with summary, abstract, keywords and keywords.

REIDU publishes only original studies and reserves all rights to reproduce the content of the contributions and the opinions expressed by each author are their sole responsibility.

REIDU declares itself an open access journal and adheres to the BOAI definition (Budapest Open Access Initiative, 2002); this is that both authors and users have the right to "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link the full texts of these articles", indicating the source. It incorporates the OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol with the possibility of obtaining different metadata formats.
